Shivam Foundation is a non-government, non-political and non-profit organization founded in June 2008 with a view to build a world where everyone has equal opportunities to live a healthy, dignified and fulfilling life.

Our goal is to create a just and equitable society where the poor and disadvantaged have access to basic rights and opportunities for development.

We work with marginalized and oppressed sections of society, especially those who live below poverty line, those who belong to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Class communities, minorities and economically backward classes, and empower them through various interventions in the areas of education, health, skill development, livelihood, environment and social justice.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower marginalized communities, especially women and girls, by providing them access to quality education, health care, skill development, livelihood opportunities and financial inclusion.

We believe that every human being has the right to access and enjoy the basic necessities of life, such as food, water, shelter, health and education. We also believe that every human being has the potential to contribute to the social and economic development of their society, if given the right tools and support.

We work with local partners and stakeholders to identify the needs and challenges of the communities we serve, and design interventions that are context-specific, sustainable and scalable. We use a holistic approach that addresses multiple dimensions of poverty and inequality, such as health, education, gender, environment and governance.

Legal Status

Shivam Foundation is legally registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, which is a central act applicable to all states and union territories of India. Its registered office is located at Ranchi, Jharkhand, India.

The organization has a governing body that oversees its policies, programs and finances, and a team of dedicated staff and volunteers that implement its activities on the ground. The Foundation is not affiliated with any political party or government agency, and operates independently and transparently.
